Malta has no real off-season, only different versions of itself. Choosing when to come is less about weather and more about the kind of trip you want.
May to June: the sweet spot
The sea has warmed up, the days are long, and the island has not yet filled. If you want swimming plus space, this is the window to book.
July to August: full summer
Hot, busy and joyful. Village festas light up the skies most weekends. Plan your days around early mornings and late evenings, and choose a home with real shade.
September to November: the long goodbye
September keeps summer's sea with autumn's calm. By November the light turns low and cinematic, and the walking trails along the coast are at their best.
